What to Bring for a Dog Party

If you're hosting: decorations, treats, cake, toys, water bowls, poop bags, and a first aid kit. If you're a guest: your dog, their leash, their own water bowl, a small treat to share, and maybe a bandana or party hat if your dog tolerates one.
If You're Hosting the Party
The non-negotiables: A dog-safe cake or pupcakes. Decorations are key. Treats for all the dog guests (check for allergies with owners beforehand). Fresh water in multiple bowls. Poop bags. Paper towels, because something will get knocked over.
Nice to have: A new toy or two for group play. Dog-safe decorations (banners up high, no small swallowable pieces). A simple treat bag for each dog guest to take home. A phone or camera ready to go, because you'll want to capture the cake moment.
Safety essentials: A basic pet first aid kit. Phone numbers for a nearby emergency vet. A separate room or crate where any overwhelmed dog can take a break. This sounds like overkill until two dogs decide they don't actually like each other.
If You're a Guest
Bring your dog on a leash (even if the party is off-leash, arrive leashed). Bring their own water bowl, since sharing bowls spreads germs. If you want to contribute, a bag of dog-safe treats or a toy to share is the perfect move. Don't bring human food as a dog party gift. It creates more problems than it solves.
Ask the host: Are there any dogs with allergies? Is the yard fully fenced? Should you bring a crate just in case?
Skip the Decoration Shopping
A dog birthday party pack covers themed decorations, bandanas, and party accessories in one box. One less thing to worry about when you're prepping food and wrangling dogs.
